Mark Alan Proudfoot, 58, of Oakland died on Friday, October 14, 2016, at Garrett Regional Medical Center. Born on January 14, 1958 in Oakland, he was the son of the late Robert E. and Alice Marie (Arnett) Proudfoot. He was a 1981 graduate of West Virginia University having obtained a bachelor of science in computer engineering. He worked for Matthews International as Director of Business Transformation and had traveled world-wide extensively throughout his career. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #2481 in Oakland and the Mountaineer Athletic Club. In addition to spending time with his family, Mark loved fishing, spending time at the cabin in Moorefield, driving his Camaro and Mountaineer football. He will be fondly remembered for his sense of humor and love of family. He is survived by his loving wife of more than 33 years, Penny Rae (Drummond) Proudfoot; two sons, Drew A. Proudfoot and wife Elizabeth of Morgantown, WV and Brandon M. Proudfoot of Oakland; one sister, Marie Rublee and husband Dan of Harrisonburg, VA; three brothers, Milton Proudfoot of Oakland, Michael Proudfoot and wife Mayliza of Hedgesville, WV and Mason Proudfoot of Charleston, WV; his mother in law, Frieda Drummond of Oakland; an uncle, Joe Arnett and wife Rosella of New Mexico; an aunt, Joretta Allwine of Pennsylvania; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the C & S FREDLOCK FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Sunday, October 16th from 5 to 8 PM and Monday, October 17th from 10 to 11 AM after which time a funeral service will be held with Lance Rhodes officiating.
