Marie Brown

Marie (Tichinel) Brown, 68, of Swanton died on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. Born on November 19, 1943 in Swanton, she was the daughter of the late John and Percy (Paugh) Tichinel. She was retired from Bausch & Lomb, was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and attended the Swanton Senior Center. She is survived by two daughters, Rhonda Kifer and Donna Cogley and husband Norman, all of Swanton; a son, Joseph "Joey" Brown and wife Clarice of Swanton; grandchildren, Henry Kifer, Lisa Kifer, Kim Cogley, Matthew Kifer, Cheyenne Brown, and Joseph Brown; a great grandchild, Layna Kifer; a sister, Pauline Lambka; and a brother, Stanley F. Tichinel. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Elwood D. Brown in 2003; sisters, Gladys Brown, Bessie Paugh, and Bonnie Tichinel; brothers, Earl R., Grover, Kenneth, Calvin, and George Tichinel; and a son in law, Henry Kifer, Sr. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM on Sunday, September 9th at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 710 Church St., Kitzmiller. A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 10th at 11 AM in the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Rankin officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
