Marguerite M. Deems, 91, of Oakland died on Monday, December 28, 2015 at the Garrett Regional Medical Center. Born on November 8, 1924 in Oakland, she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Mary Elizabeth (Miller) McRobie. She had worked years ago for the Ben Franklin store in Oakland and was known by many for her loving of walking in the town. Marguerite was the last surviving member of her immediate family and is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Rex E. "Eddie" Deems, in April of 2014. A funeral service will be held in the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Thursday, December 31st at 11 AM with Pastor Matthew A. Paugh officiating. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
