Margaret Madigan

Margaret Arvilla Madigan, 70 of Deer Park, MD died Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at her home.

Born September 26, 1939 in Listie, PA, she was the daughter of the late Jonas and Florence (Paxton) Peck. She was also preceded in death by her husband William H. Madigan, step-son William H. Madigan, Jr., grandson Brian Aronhalt, granddaughter Annissa Spaulding and one sister, Betty McCrobie.

She is survived by two daughters, Debra Lee Pariseau and husband Charles E. Pariseau of Oakland, MD and Paula Cussins and David Cussins of Capon Bridge, WV; two sons, Paul Spaulding of Arkansas and Philip Spaulding, at home. She is also survived by three granddaughters, Stacy Gaither, Tiffany Pariseau and Emily Pariseau, all of Oakland, MD; five grandsons, Dr. Steven Allison and wife Dr. Hannah Allison of Greenville, NC, William L. Pariseau of Oakland, Donald Aronhalt, Eric Aronhalt, and Paul Spaulding, Jr. as well as seven great grandchildren; two stepsons Mark Madigan and Richard Madigan; one stepdaughter Melissa Sutton and ten step grandchildren.

She is also survived by three sisters, Shirley Savage and the late Clifford Savage of Oakland, MD, Mary Peck of Deer Park, Donna Lantz and husband David Lantz of Terra Alta, WV; two brothers, Jonas Peck and wife Joyce Peck of Mtn. Lake Park, MD and John Peck and wife Terry Peck of Oakland, MD.

Margaret, or Peggy as she was better known, was retired from the Garrett County Department of Social Services where she worked for twenty-eight years as the front counter receptionist. She was a past member of the American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary and the Elks Lodge. She was a life member of the DVA. Her interests included going to Atlantic City and playing bingo as well as reading and coloring.

She passed on peacefully with her daughter Debbie and son-in-law, Charlie present and Beth Cervi of Garrett County Hospice at her home as she wished.

The family will receive friends at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N. Second St., Oakland, MD on Friday, July 23, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.

Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2010 in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Charles Pariseau officiating. The interment will follow in Deer Park Cemetery.
