Margaret Collins

Margaret Collins, 70, of Oakland, and formerly of Lawrenceburg, KY, died on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at the Garrett County Memorial Hospital. Born on March 7, 1944 in Wichita, KS, she was the daughter of the late Earl Richards and Rowena Pearl (Brandt) Richards Stratton. She was a member and avid supporter of Gideons International. She served also as a church pianist for many years and performed in many different areas. In addition to spending time with her family and friends, she loved her Lord and delighted in serving Him. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Edward A. Collins; a daughter, Rebecca L. Morrison and husband Heath of Frederick; a son Richard W. Collins and wife Janet of Montgomery Village; two grandchildren, Ashley M. Collins and Kyle J. Collins; and a special friend, Becky Parsons. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Tuesday, August 5th from 6 to 8 PM and on Wednesday, August 6th from 10 to 11 AM after which time a funeral service will be held with Pastor Chad Reese officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Gideons International, PO Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214.
