Madeline Thayer

Madeline Vida (Howell) Thayer, 85 of Morgantown, WV and formerly of Deep Creek Lake, MD died Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at her residence.
Born April 10, 1925 in Elkins, WV, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Margie (Harper) Howell Carder. She was also preceded in death by her husband John P. "Pip" Thayer in August of 1999.
Mrs. Thayer and her husband owned and operated Thayer's Barn at Deep Creek Lake and also a mobile home business & park in Morgantown. She was a member of the Oakland County Club Ladie's Association.
Surviving are one daughter, Jeannie Long & husband Bud of Morgantown; one grandson, Tim Long & wife Julie of Morgantown, 2 great grandsons, Derek & Caleb Long; step-son Jim G. Thayer & wife Sharon and their family of Morgantown; stepdaughter Joy Cornish & husband Paul and their family of Chicago.
The family will receive friends at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N. Second St., Oakland, MD on Thursday, July 29, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 30, 2010 in the funeral home chapel. The interment will follow in Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
