Mabel E. Riley, 94, of Oakland died on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at the Garrett Regional Medical Center. Born on December 31, 1922 in Oakland, she was the daughter of the late Nelson A. and Grace M. (Bolyard) Nethken. She had attended the Pentecostal Church in Oakland. Mabel had a great love for her family and they were her world. She is survived by two daughters, Teresa Snyder and husband Michael of Oakland and Sandra George and husband William of Ridgeley, WV; a son, Ronald Riley and wife June of Oakland; grandchildren, William George, Christopher George, Greg George, Danny Riley, Bonnie Riley and Taylor Snyder; great grandchildren, Nikki George, Marissa George, Trey George, Stephanie George, Gage George, Collin George, Kyle George, Chelsea George, Nickolas George, Derek George, Jaxson Riley, Calvin Riley and Troy Snyder; a sister, Margaret Wilson of Swanton; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Daniel L. Riley, on January 13, 1996; two sisters, Wilda Gonder and Madeline Moats; and two infant brothers. Friends will be received at the C & S FREDLOCK FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Tuesday, January 17th from 4 to 7:30 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, January 18th at 11 AM with Pastor Russell Liller officiating. Interment will follow in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Southern Garrett Rescue Squad, PO Box 378, Oakland, MD 21550.
