Luella Decker

Luella "Penny" (Aldrich) Decker, 85, of Mountain Lake Park, passed away on May 9, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her family. Born on August 26, 1938, in Pennellville, NY, she was the daughter of the late Myron and Vera (Fields) Aldrich.

Penny was a 1956 graduate of John C. Birdlebough High School in Phoenix, NY. She attended Comptometer Business School and earned her diploma for teaching from Elohim Bible Institute. Penny was a born again Christian and Pastor's wife for 18 years. She was a Cub Scout Leader for Pack #760. She loved teaching children about Jesus and spent many years as a Sunday School Teacher and taught Junior Church. She worked at the Gaylord Library Supply Company in Liverpool, NY, as a credit analyst for over 18 years. In 2001, she and her husband Jerry, moved to Alpine Lake, WV, and she worked for Will O' of the Wisp Resort. They became members of the Crellin Assembly of God and served as nursery overseers for five years. She retired in 2004, moved to Mountain Lake Park, and became a member of the Loch Lynn Church of God. Penny's one desire was to see people come to know the Lord.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry, to whom she was married on November 29, 1980. Also surviving are three daughters, Deborah Rames, Rebecca Rawson, and Elisabeth Johnson; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Melvin Aldrich, and two sons, David and Timothy Covell.

Penny's request for cremation will be honored. Friends will be received on Friday, May 17, 2024, from 10 to 11 AM at the Loch Lynn Church of God. A celebration of life will be held at 11 AM with Pastors Ivan and Cindy Ackerman officiating.
