Louise King

Louise Virginia (O'Brien) King, 93, of Deer Park passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at the Oakland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born on August 5, 1922 in Swanton, she was the daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Etta Catherine (Fitzwater) O'Brien. Many years ago Louise worked at the Pickwick Inn, which now is the Oakland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She later retired from Fitzwater Furniture after thirty-six years of service. She participated in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, was an avid reader, fisherman, played games on her computer and loved to work in her flowers. She was a Methodist by faith. She is survived by a son, Terry King of Deer Park; two daughters, Susan Hillegass of Harrisburg, PA and Sharon King of Deer Park; granddaughters, Laryssa King and Linda Steele; grandsons, Greg, Jered and Derek King and James Pysell; great grandchildren, Reonna, Mckenzie and Juliet King, Nicole and Emily Pysell, and Adam Steele; a brother, John Marshall O'Brien of Largo, FL; a daughter in law, Vincenza "Mickey" King; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Claude H. King, in 1988; a son, Dale King; a son in law, James Hillegass; a daughter in law, Jan King; brothers, Lambert, Holland, Fred, Bill and Gerald O'Brien; sisters, Alverta Burke, Mary Nolte, Ruth Rounds and Leona Tettenburn; and a grandson, Shawn Smith. Friends and family will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Monday, December 21st from 5 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, December 22nd at 11 AM with Rev. Dr. Chip Lee officiating. Interment will follow in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
