Linda Lou Robinette, 66, of Mt. Lake Park died on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at her home with her family by her side. Born on April 11, 1950 in Huntington, West Virginia she is the daughter of Cora Susan (Bird) Robinette and the late Frank Wilmer Robinette, Sr. Linda was a graduate of Southern High School and of Columbia Union College, Takoma Park, MD, class of 1975 where she earned a Bachelor of Science Nursing degree. She was employed by Garrett Memorial Hospital from 1976 till she retired in 1999, starting her career as a staff nurse, she was promoted to head nurse of the intensive care unit. Linda was a paramedic volunteer and participated in cave rescuing paramedic services. She had advanced training in holistic medicine and was an unlicensed natural therapist. Linda was a member of the Mountaintop Seventh-Day Adventist Church where she enjoyed working on health projects. Linda was a devoted grandmother and she treasured the special times she spent with her grandchildren. Linda had a giving spirit and a healing nature. Her smile was contagious. She bought peace and happiness to all around her. Linda enjoyed spending time outdoors with her family hiking, bicycling, camping and gardening. Linda was a vendor at the Oakland Fresh Air Market where she displayed and sold her art. Most of all, she enjoyed making arts and crafts with the children at the market. She will truly be missed. In addition to her mother, Linda is survived by her son, Wesley Robinette of Mt. Lake Park; her grandchildren, Alexes Capon, Olivia Robinette, Samuel Robinette, Elizabeth Robinette, Sceria Robinette, and Abigal Robinette; her siblings, Frank Robinette, Jr. of Oakland, Greg Robinette and wife Sandy of Aurora, Diane Kuhn and husband Dennis of Oakland, Cathy Grey and husband Robert of Utah, and Debora Robinette of Oakland; numerous nieces and nephews; lifelong friend and partner, Ted O'Brien. In addition to her father, Linda was preceded in death by her brother, Steve Robinette. Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N. 2nd St., Oakland on Thursday, May 19, 2016 from 10-11:00 AM at which time a memorial service will be held with Pastor Scott Shafer officiating. Interment will be in the Bayard Cemetery at a later date. A luncheon will be held following the memorial service at the Southern Garrett County Rescue Squad Hall. The family would like to thank Linda's caregivers, Debbie Miller and Kristy Meadows and Hospice of Garrett County for their wonderful care and devotion to Linda.
