Linda Callis

Linda Sue Callis, 76, of Oakland, MD, passed away on February 9, 2023, at Garrett Regional Medical Center. Born on July 24, 1946, in Keyser, WV, she was the daughter of the late Carlton James Sr., and Mary Louise (Eichelberger) Callis.

Linda enjoyed gardening, taking walks, and animals of all species. She loved spending time with her family and friends and making new friends, as she never met a stranger. Her nephew described her as a very sweet soul.

She is survived by two sisters, Nancy Louise Luague and husband Samuel and Debra Ann Cowgill; three nephews, Jeremy Groves Sr., Samuel Mark Luague, and Jason Groves; two nieces, Lori Luague and Stephanie Cowgill; two great nephews, Corey Cowgill and Jeremy Groves, Jr.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Carlton James Callis, Jr., and two nephews, Carlton James Callis III and John Joseph Callis.

Friends will be received Monday, February 13, 2023, from 10 to 11 AM at C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N. Second St. Oakland. A funeral service will be held 11 AM, in the funeral home with Pastor Terry Weaver officiating. Interment will follow in the Oakland Cemetery.
