Lillian "Joyce" Jolles, 58, of Oakland died on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at the Oakland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born on August 6, 1955 in Washington D.C., she was the daughter of the late Dr. Richard and Reatha Joanne (Hanes) Dobson. She was a graduate of Winston Churchill High School and had attended the University of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Joyce was the owner of Shady Hill Stables and was well-known for her work at Paw Prints Pet Grooming. She was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Oakland and had graciously volunteered her time to both 4-H and the Human Society. In addition to spending time with her family, Joyce enjoyed working on the farm and caring for horses. She was an avid patron of the arts, pursued journalism and theater, and enjoyed sharing her passion with others. She is survived by her daughter, Lauren Elyse Jolles; her son, Adam Daniel Jolles; an adopted daughter, Tammara Elizabeth Jackson; adopted grandchildren, Sabrina, Isabella and Veronica Jackson; and a sister, Amanda Coe Upole. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a husband, Martin David Jolles, and a brother, Randell Wyitt Coe. A memorial mass will be celebrated in St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church on Friday, April 11th at 11 AM with Rev. Donald J. Parson as celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family c/o Lauren Jolles, 1979 Shady Dell Road, Oakland, MD 21550. The Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., Oakland is assisting the family with arrangements.
