Lillian M. Callicoat, 82, of Oakland and formerly of Petersburg, WV, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2020, at Dennett Road Manor.
Lillian was born on August 26, 1937, in Huntington, WV, the daughter of the late Herbert and Ethel (Cabell) Mays. She enjoyed spending time crocheting, sewing and doing crafts. Lillian loved people and spent most of her working life caring for people in their homes.
She is survived by two daughters, Anna Marie Sisler and husband Buddy and Wendy Carson and husband Shannon all of Oakland; two sons, James Owen Ross and wife Linda of Cabins, WV, and David Allen Ross and wife Missy of Eglon, WV; a sister, Juanita McComas and brother, James Mays and wife Nancy all of Huntington, WV; nineteen grandchildren; thirty-one great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; and special friend Lloyd.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first and second husbands, James Frederick Ross in 1957 and Oscar Lee Callicoat in 2007.
Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Sunday, February 2, 2020, from 1 to 4 PM and Monday, February 3, 2020, from 10 AM to 11 AM at which time a funeral service will be held with Pastor John Skipper officiating in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Moorefield.
