Lewis Lohr

Lewis Carlton Lohr, 81, of Swanton died Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Mon General Hospital in Morgantown, WV.

Lewis was born December 6, 1930 in Swanton, the son of the late Fredrick A. and Elizabeth P. (George) Lohr. He attended Lakeside Assembly of God Church. Lewis retired from Sky Valley Association after working in maintenance for 31 years, and was a farmer all of his life. He enjoyed spending his time hunting and fishing but most importantly he was a loving husband and a great father. Lewis never met a stranger.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Catherine "Pat" (Bowser) Lohr; three daughters, Karen S. Lohr, Patty J. Lohr, and Dawn M. Lohr all of Swanton; a sister, Mary L. Shreve and husband Eugene of Swanton; two brothers, Fredrick E. Lohr and James H. Lohr and wife Linda, all of Swanton; a sister-in-law, Sharon Lohr of Swanton; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Rebecca Lynn Lohr; a sister, M. Lucille Shannon; three brothers, Daniel E. Lohr, Luther D. Lohr, Roger W. Lohr; and a sister-in-law, Carrie Lohr.

Friends will be received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, P.A. 21 N. 2nd St. Oakland on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, December 13 2011 at the Lakeside Assembly of God, 18012 Garrett Hwy, Oakland, MD with Pastor Dennis Caton officiating.

Interment will follow in Alexander Lohr Cemetery.
