Lela Mullenax

Lela Elva Mullenax, 92, of Horse Shoe Run, WV passed away on Tuesday February 16, 2016 at Garrett Regional Medical Center. She was born May 11, 1923 in Horse Shoe Run, WV, a daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Ina Mae Wotring Evans. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Homer Woodrow Mullenax, four sisters; Geneva Feather, Joyce Lantz, Mary Hauser, Josephine Roth and three brothers, Milan Evans, Orville Evans and Grover Evans. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survivors include four sons; Allen (Carolyn) Mullenax, Dale Mullenax, Roger (Renee) Mullenax all of Horse Shoe Run, WV and Ron (Selena Kay) Mullenax, Terra Alta, WV, six grandchildren; Donna, Erin, Chris, Barry and Josh Mullenax and Patty (Eric) Saunders, two great-granddaughters; Ashley and KayAnn Mullenax and sister-in-law, Nada Evans. Lela was a lifetime member of Bethel United Methodist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother who loved to cook and bake. Friends will be received on Friday February 19 at the Aurora Memorial Building from 4-8 PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday February 20 at 3:00 PM at the Texas Bethel United Methodist Church in Horse Shoe Run, WV with Rev. Cheryl George officiating. Interment will follow in the Texas Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Texas Cemetery Association c/o Paul Teets Hogback Rd. Eglon, WV 26716.
