Lee Reel

Lee Walter Reel, 81, of Kitzmiller died on Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at Piney Valley Nursing Home in Keyser, WV. Born on February 5, 1935 in Nethken, WV, he was the son of the late Martin F. and Anna P. (Evans) Reel. He was a 1952 graduate of Elk Garden High School and a proud veteran of the United States Air Force having served during the Korean War. He was an equipment operator for the former Westvaco paper mill prior to his retirement in 1997 after 36 years of service. He was a former member of the Kitzmiller Volunteer Fire Department. Lee was an avid NASCAR enthusiast and loved to tell stories. He will be fondly remembered by his family, friends and neighbors. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews including Jim and Margie Reel who were his caregivers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Eola M. "Sis" Reel, in 2013; and his siblings, Jesse Reel, Guy Reel, Roy Reel, Martin Reel, Jr., Francis Knotts, Ruth Reel, Mabel Reel, Frank Reel and Charles Reel. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 710 Church St., Kitzmiller on Sunday, May 8th from 2 to 6 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday, May 9th at 12 PM with Rev. Lee Robertson officiating. Interment, with military honors, will be in the IOOF Cemetery, Elk Garden, WV. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Kitzmiller VFD, PO Box 438, Kitzmiller, MD 21538 or Elk District Ambulance, PO Box 183, Elk Garden, WV 26717.
