Lawrence George Proulx, 77 of Oakland, MD, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2011.
Born January 11, 1934 in New York, he was the son of the late Lawrence H. & Violet (Baxter) Proulx. He was also preceded in death by wife-Dolores (Whitacre) Proulx.
Lawrence was a proud veteran having served twenty-two years with the United States Army retiring with the rank as Master Sergeant; serving in the Korean War and two tours of duty in the Vietnam War. He was also a member of the American Legion.
Surviving are: one sister-Connie Montgomery and husband Lloyd; daughter-Lisa Proulx and fiancAC.e Charlie Pennington, Mt. Lake Park; sons-Steve Proulx and wife Sharon, Perry Hall, MD and Mark Proulx and wife Nancy of Oakland; grandchildren-Tyler Graham & girlfriend Julia, Amanda Proulx, Jordyn Livengood, Erika Proulx and Alec Proulx a step-grandson-Jeremy Teets and step great-grandsons Daylen and Tony and one great-grandson to be Jake Tyler Graham.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 11 a.m. in the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, P.A., Chapel, 21 N. 2nd St, Oakland, MD 21550, with Rev. Donald Matthews officiating. Military honors will accorded.
