LaVada Lipscomb

LaVada Marie “Lady” Lipscomb, 78, of Kitzmiller went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 1, 2017, at her home. Born on December 30, 1938 in Kitzmiller, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Bertha M. (Idleman) Lucas. She was a member of the Kitzmiller Assembly of God and loved going to church. Lady had been an avid bingo player and also enjoyed playing cards with her family. She will be remembered as a person who loved everyone and who was pleased by being able to provide meals for many and popsicles for the community children in the summer. Most of all, she loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by seven children, Gary “Chad” Lucas and wife Pam, Rocky Lucas and wife Dreama, Terry Lucas and wife Jane, Sharon Paugh and husband Bill, Karen Barnhouse and husband Timothy, Jimmy Bo Lipscomb and wife Rebecca, and Sue McRobie and husband Richard, all of Kitzmiller; eighteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; a sister, Leoda Rinker and husband Buck; special nephew, John Wayne Rinker and wife Sharon; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James “Buck” Lipscomb, in 2009; a granddaughter, Christine Paugh; a grandson, Lee Paugh; four brothers; and four sisters. Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A. on Sunday, December 3rd from 1 to 4 PM and at the Kitzmiller Assembly of God, W Main St., Kitzmiller on Monday, December 4th from 10 to 11 AM after which time a funeral service will be held with Rev. Lee Robertson and Rev. Matthew Paugh officiating. Interment will follow in the Rehobeth Cemetery, Mt. Storm, WV. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kitzmiller Assembly of God, 289 W Main St., Kitzmiller, MD 21538.
