Laurie M. Lohr, 59, of Oakland, died on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at her home. Born on November 15, 1957 in Cortland, NY, she is the daughter of the late Carl and Marilyn (Baldwin) Arnold. Laurie graduated from Tompkins Cortland Community College, Dryden, NY with an associate's degree in nursing and worked as a licensed practical nurse for Professional Nursing. Laurie was a strong spiritual woman who enjoyed being outdoors hiking, gardening and planting. She loved animals. She also enjoyed drawing. Laurie had a very loving and wonderful soul. She looked for the humor in things and loved the simple things in life. She will be greatly missed. Laurie is survived by her daughter, Lacreasa Greene of Oakland; a son, Matthew Shimer and wife Heather of Cortland, NY; a grandchild, Allia Shimer of Cortland, NY; and two sisters, Carol Spaw of Okeechobee, FL and Julie Pittsley of Cortland, NY. In addition to her parents, Laurie was preceded in death by her husband of five years, David A. Lohr; and a brother, Bradley Arnold. In accordance with Laurie's wishes, she will be cremated.
