Laura Shreve

Laura Esther (Hanlin) Shreve, 87, of Oakland, died on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Garrett County Memorial Hospital. Born on June 15, 1926 in Bayard, WV, she was the daughter of the late Warner Hollen & Freda Jane (Likens) Hanlin. Laura was a charter member of the Loch Lynn Church of God which was founded in 1958. She is survived by two sons, Charles Leroy Shreve and wife Pasty of Oakland and Eugene Larry Shreve and wife Mary of Swanton; a granddaughter, Ashley Renee Shreve; five grandsons, Jason Scott Shreve and wife Jodi, Michael Todd Shreve, Steven Eric Shreve and wife Gloria, Eugene Larry Shreve, Jr. and wife Cindy and James Allen Shreve and wife Krystal; eight great grandchildren, Kaylee Marie Shreve, Austin Joshua Shreve, Breanna Rae Shreve, Ashton Glenn Shreve, Mykenzi Elizabeth Shreve, Colin James Shreve, Layla Grace Shreve and Owen Brice Shreve; three sisters, Glenna Louise Streets, Hazel Leona Dawson and Evelyn Leanna Bosley. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Salem Shreve, Jr., in 2009; a son, Miles Hollen Shreve in 1991; four sisters, Alice Marguerite Aronhalt George, Pauline Marie Reedy, Floe Jean Carter, Betty Jane Cosner; five brothers, Elmer Grant, Clyde Kenneth, Lorenza Garland, Ernest Miles and Lester William Hanlin. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., Oakland on Thursday, November 14 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM and Friday from 10 to 11 AM at the Loch Lynn Church of God, 8649 Gorman Road, Mt. Lake Park, MD at which time a funeral service will be held with Pastor Ivan Acherman officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Loch Lynn Church of God, 8649 Gorman Road, Mt. Lake Park, MD 21550.
