Laura Annabell DeWitt, 81, of Oakland, MD died on Sunday, September 4, 2011 at her home. Born May 4, 1930 in Sang Run, she was the daughter of Steward S. and Minnie (DeWitt) Savage.
Laura was a cleaning person for Naylor's Hardware for eighteen years.
She is survived by four sons, Ronald C. DeWitt, Kenneth L. DeWitt, Timothy B. DeWitt, all of Oakland and Donald K. DeWitt of Winchester, VA; two daughters, Tammy L. Wilson of Gormania, WV and Robin R. Niner of Oakland; one brother, Marlin Savage of Florida; one sister, Dorothy Thomas of McHenry; also eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Monday, September 5th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N. 2nd St., Oakland, MD 21550. A funeral service will be held at the Oak Grove Church of the Brethren on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Ivan Ackerman and Rev. Donald Matthews officiating.
Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
