Larry C. Glotfelty, 65, of Oakland died on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at the Garrett County Memorial Hospital. Born on November 18, 1948 in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Fred B. and Nellie R. Glotfelty. He was a graduate of Southern High School and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps having served during the Vietnam War. Larry was also the owner of Glotfelty Enterprises in Oakland. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Accident, the American Legion Proctor Kildow Post 71, Deer Park VFW Post 10077, Elks Lodge 2481 and the Marine Corps League of Garrett County. In addition to spending time with his family and friends, Larry enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, traveling and hunting with his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife, Tracy L. (Beckman) Glotfelty, to whom he was married on September 16, 2011; his children, Stephanie Glotfelty Upole and husband Vincent of Cumberland, Steven Glotfelty and wife Kim of Oakland, Sherry Leader and husband Jason of Oakland and Warren Bryce Glotfelty of Colorado; grandchildren, Nicole Glotfelty, Brendan Whiteman, Ashlyn Leader and Cade Leader; sisters, Dorothy Towns and husband Bill of Texas and Georgia Ann Myatt and Clay Meyers of Georgia; brothers, George Glotfelty and wife Mary of Oakland and Gene Glotfelty and wife Becky of Oakland; former daughter in law, Erica Glotfelty; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St, Oakland on Sunday, September 21st from 1 to 6 PM and at the Zion Lutheran Church, Accident on Monday, September 22nd from 10 to 11 AM after which time a funeral service will be held with Pastor Robert Riebau officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials in Larry's name may be sent to the ALS Association, Gift Processing Center, PO Box 6051, Albert Lea, MN 56007.
