L. Zimmerman

L. Edward "Eddie" Zimmerman, Deer Park, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 20, 2010. He was a patient at Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Eddie was born on May 20, 1928 in Oakland, MD and was the son of the late Eli O. Roy Zimmerman and Elva C. (Hill) Zimmerman. He was 82 years of age.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda A. (Mellinger) Zimmerman whom he married November 20, 1949. Also surviving are three sons, David & wife, Kathy, of Oakland; Roger & wife, Patty, of Keyser, WV and Tracy & wife, Amy, of Vandalia, IL. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; Amy Flanigan & husband, Alex of Oakland; Ginger Zimmerman of Kendallville, IN; Roger Zimmerman & wife, JoLia, of McCoole, MD; Megan, Mitchell, Marcus & Macy Zimmerman of Vandalia, IL. Also surviving are two great-grandchildren, D.J. & Brooklynn Flanigan of Oakland, MD. Eddie is survived by a son at heart, Eugene Friend & wife, Heather, and family of North Carolina.

Family and friends will be received at the Burdock Funeral Home, 21 N. Second St., Oakland, MD on Thursday, July 22, 2010 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 23, 2010 at 2:00 PM. It will be held at The Apostolics of Oakland, 600 Spruce Street with Pastor L. Daniel Garlitz officiating, assisted by Pastor Aaron Phillips. Interment will be at Garrett County Memorial Gardens in Oakland, MD.
