Kenneth Reckart

Kenneth Robert Reckart, 80, of Oakland died on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at the Garrett County Memorial Hospital. Born on July 28, 1934 in Booth, WV, he was the son of the late Theodore and Delia (Uphold) Reckart. He was a farmer, timberman and owner of Reckart Lumber. He was in the construction business and was a realtor, having developed Nest Lick Acres. His memberships included the American Legion Proctor Kildow Post 71 in Oakland, Elks Lodge #2481, Woodmen of the World and Deer Park Sportsman's Club. He had also served as a member of the Maryland National Guard. He is survived by his loving wife, Delores (Schell) Reckart; a sister, Norma Wilt and husband Gene of Oakland; two brothers, James Reckart of Mt. Lake Park and Norman Reckart and wife Bernadette of Romney, WV; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Monday, August 18th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, August 19th at 11 AM with Pastor Barbara Rexroad officiating. Interment will follow in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Ct., Glen Allen, VA 23060.
