Kenneth Patrick Niner, 57, of Oakland, died on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at the Garrett Regional Medical Center. Born on March 1, 1959 in Garrett County, Kenneth is the son of Oliver F. Niner and the late Dorothy A. (Friend) Niner. Kenneth was a graduate of Southern High School, class of 1977, Garrett College and Davis and Elkins College with a Bachelor degree in business. He was the owner of Ken P. Niner Construction Company. Kenneth was known for being more than a builder, he was an artist who imagined and built unique things paying close attention to the details. In his youth, he was a basketball player who earned scholarships to college for his abilities on the court. He loved spending time outdoors hunting and gardening. He was a member of the Lakeside Assembly of God Church. Kenneth is survived by his wife, Robin Gay (Dooley) Niner; his father, Oliver F. Niner of Oakland; two step-sons, Jeremy Henry and wife Sarah and Simeon Reid of Oakland; his siblings, Roger Niner and wife Darla of Oakland, Marilynn Echols and husband Paul of Florida, Helen Stephens and husband Mike of Oakland; an aunt, Leota Warnick of Oakland; his best friend, who was like a brother, Greg Shockey; a cousin and hunting buddy, Clifford Warnick. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by two brothers, David and Richard Niner. Friends will be received at the C & S FREDLOCK FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 21 N 2nd Street, Oakland on Thursday, October 27, 2016 from 5-8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at the Lakeside Assembly of God Church, 18012 Garrett Highway, Oakland on Friday, October 28, 2016 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Dennis Caton officiating. Interment will be in Glendale Cemetery. The family would like to thank Pastor Dennis Caton for his loving friendship; Dave Woods for his dedication, loyalty and friendship and Judith Hopkins for her loving care and devotion.
