Keith McLaughlin

Keith D. McLaughlin, 66, of Swanton died on September 3, 2013 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Born on November 11, 1946 in Elkins, WV, he was the son of the George W. and Margaret C. (Trickett) McLaughlin. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam War and also received a degree in business administration from West Virginia University. He was a member of the Deep Creek Baptist Church and enjoyed water skiing, biking, sailing and participating in church mission projects. Keith was one of the first barefoot skiers on Deep Creek Lake, a masterful waterskiier, and joyfully spent hours each summer teaching others how to ski. We will all miss his gentle presence, kind smile and good heart. He is survived by his two daughters, Erin Nadine McLaughlin of Annapolis and Katie Nicole McLaughlin of Ventura, CA; and four brothers, Larry McLaughlin and wife Jeanne of Aurora, CO, David McLaughlin and wife Margie of Warrenton, VA, Rob McLaughlin of Kansas City MO and Allan McLaughlin of Hilton Head, SC; and a sister, Judy McLaughlin Gall of Evanston, IL. The family will receive friends at the Deep Creek Baptist Church on Saturday, September 7th from 10 AM to 12:30 PM at which time a funeral service will be held with Rev. Dr. Ben Lehay officiating. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Elkins, WV.
