Kathryn L. Murphy Ream, 68 of Oakland, MD died Friday August 19, 2011 in Courtland Acres Nursing Home, Thomas, WV. Following a long battle with muscular dystrophy. Born January 10, 1943 in Piedmont, WV she was the daughter of the late Edward and Reba (Gerard) Murphy.
Kathryn was a supervisor in human resources with the State of Maryland. She graduated from St. Peter's Catholic school in Westernport and was also a graduate of Catherman's Business School in Cumberland.
Surviving is her husband, Harland "Bruce" Ream, a brother, Edward Murphy and wife Maxine of Keyser, WV. Two sisters, Sara Hartman and husband Kenneth of Westernport, and Carol Moore and husband Bob of Keyser, WV. There are also several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home P.A. 21 N 2nd St. Oakland, Md. On Sunday from 5-8pm.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday at 11am with Fr. Don Parson officiating. Interment will be in St. Peters Catholic Cemetery Westernport.
