Katherine Kight

Katherine Myrtle (Hebb) Kight, 88, of Deer Park, passed away on October 16, 2024, at Garrett Regional Medical Center. Born on August 5, 1936, in Red House, she was the daughter of the late Jerry and Daisy (Keyser) Hebb.

Katherine was a graduate of Oakland High School. She worked for the Board of Education as a cook at Southern High School, Loch Lynn, and Yough Glades Elementary Schools. She loved to do crafts and was a very hard worker who did things at a fast pace which included working on the farm, in her garden, mowing grass, shoveling snow, all while doing so well up into her 80's. She always had a smile on her face and a hug for everyone. But most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her five children, Doug Kight and wife Dawn, Barbara Guggenheim and husband Steve, Sharon Kight, Leslie Harvey and husband Jim, Valerie Pierce and husband Colin; grandchildren, Craig and wife Jennifer, Jessica and husband Brock, Logan, Amy and husband Ryan, Dustin and wife Chelsie, and Emily and fiance Kevin; bonus grandchildren, Brittany and husband Alex, and Travis; great grandchildren, Madison, Allison, Coltin, Damon, Gavin, Blair, Barrett, Tucker, Travis, Emma, Chase; great great grandchildren, Marley; siblings, Perry and Dan Hebb; special neighbors, Jim and Sheryl Thomas and her very special dog Molly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Blaine Kight; a grandson Jason Myers; four siblings, Robert Hebb, Leona Gaster, Jack Hebb and Charlie Hebb; and a son in law, Tim Myers.

Friends will be received on Sunday, October 20, 2024, from 1 to 4 PM, at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N. Second St., Oakland. A funeral service will be held at 4 PM in the funeral home with Pastor Sonny McNear officiating.
