Karl Norman Kyle, 86, of Bayard, passed away on April 21, 2025, peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family. Born on September 10, 1938, in Barton, MD, he was the son of the late Carl and Virginia (Russell) Kyle.
Norman retired from Allegheny Mining, where he worked as a heavy equipment operator. He was a devoted member of the Bayard Church of God, and was a faithful member of the Gormania Coffee Club, where he enjoyed catching up with friends and sharing the latest news. Norman loved traveling, hunting, and working in his yard and garage. Above all, he cherished spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 70 years, Mary Frances (Jordan) Kyle; his daughter, Karen Sue Friend and husband Alfred of Swanton; grandchildren, Angela Lambka and husband Gary of Bayard, Joshua Boyce and wife Tausha of Swanton, Acie Friend and partner Jo'Ella Davis of Accident; step-grandson, Joseph Friend and fiancé Trista James, of Virginia; great grandchildren, Matthew Lambka and wife Brooklyn, Jeremy Lambka, Jordan Lambka, Adrianna Herman and partner Jordan Hebb, Leah Boyce, and Morgan Friend; great great grandchildren, Kayson, Payton and Jadilynn; siblings, Gary Kyle and wife Phyllis and Beverly Blubaugh and husband Russell, all of Lonaconing, MD; and a sister in law, Kathy Kyle of Winchester, VA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Kyle and Roger Kyle; and a grandson, Andrew Friend.
Normans wishes to be cremated have been honored, and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 11 AM in the Bayard Church of God, officiated by Pastor Phillip Marcum, with a dinner to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to your local Hospice.
