Karen Lea Wilson, 54, of Oakland died on Friday, May 8, 2015 at home. Born on March 29, 1961 in Baltimore, she was a daughter of Ferol A. (Poling) Stickley of Oakland and the late John H. Stickley. Karen was an accomplished artist whose paintings of the Oakland train station have been prominently displayed throughout the area. She was talented in all artistic mediums and had also developed a love for collecting cookbooks and recipes. In her caring manner, Karen had also donated her time to the Community Action program for which she made regular calls to check on the area's shut-ins. In addition to her mother, she is survived by siblings, Deborah Zabetakis and husband Tom of Baltimore, Jim Stickley and wife Kaethe of Titusville, FL, J.H. Stickley of Roanoke, VA and Cindy Francis and husband Mike of White Hall, MD; nieces and nephews, Jennifer Fitzgerald and husband David of Westminster, Tommy Zabetakis and wife Jennifer of Baltimore, James Stickley, Steven Crowell, Sandra Adams and Ashley Foster all of Titusville, FL; and eight great nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Monday, May 11th from 4 to 7 PM. A funeral service, with interment to follow, will be held in the chapel of Garrett County Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, May 12th at 11 AM with Pastor Carl Lee officiating.
