Karen Beckman

Karen "Sue" Beckman, 60, of Oakland was called home to be with Jesus on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at the Western Maryland Health System in Cumberland. Born on January 9, 1955 in Oakland, she was the daughter of the late Carlus Delbert and Mary Lenore (Roy) Reckart. She worked for Railey Mountain Lake Vacations and Deep Creek Lodging Company for numerous years. She had enjoyed attending the Divine Hope Church and will be remembered for her great love of family, especially her grandchildren and great granddaughter. She is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Cowgill and husband Adam of Oakland; a son, Casey "Delbie" Beckman and fiancAC.e Sarah Shaffer of Oakland; a step-son, John Georg and wife Charity of Grantsville; adored and cherished grandchildren, Alyssa, Gavin and Brysen Cowgill, Andy Sweitzer, and Alex and Austin Bittinger; beloved great granddaughter, Madison Cowgill; sisters, Ann Harsh and husband Ralph of Valley Point, WV, Linda Sines and husband Carl of Red House, Sharon Sutton and husband Steve of Red House and Lois Lothry and partner Mark Lantz of Terra Alta, WV; a brother, Elmer Reckart and wife Mame of Hutton; a brother in law, Howard Wilson of Bruceton Mills, WV; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 41 years, John Harry Beckman, on October 28, 2015; a sister, Himey Wilson; an infant brother, and step-son, Ronald Opal Georg. Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Monday, January 4th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, January 5th at 11 AM with Pastor Jason Buckley officiating. Interment will follow in the Beckman-Moon Cemetery, Oakland.
