Kalie Ashby

Kalie Michelle Hostutler Ashby, 26, of Oakland went to be with her Lord on Saturday, December 20, 2014. Born on December 26, 1987 in Oakland, she was the daughter of Henry Arthur, Jr. and Kimberly Michelle (Winters) Hostutler of Oakland. She was a graduate of Garrett College and received her MBA from Frostburg State University. Kalie was the Assistant Director of Industrial Research for Garrett College. She was a faithful member of the Crellin Assembly of God and was a member of and Social Media Director for Woodmen of the World. Kalie will be remembered for her deep faith, devotion to her family and for her persistence and dedication to every activity or task she undertook. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her loving husband of seven years, Matthew Ray Ashby; beloved son, Sawyer Law Ashby; dear sister, Brittney Jean Hostutler of TN; maternal grandparents, Neil and Bonnie Winters of Oakland; great grandmother, Jessie Winters of Eglon; uncles, Scott Winters and wife Kristi, Kevin Winters and wife Carrie, Richard Hostutler and wife Hannah, and Jared Hostutler and wife Samantha; and a number of cousins. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Arthur and Betty Hostutler. Friends will be received at the Garrett College CARC, 687 Mosser Rd., McHenry on Tuesday, December 23rd from 9 to 11 AM and 1 to 2 PM after which time a funeral service will be held with Rev. James Tedeschi and Rev. Tim Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Ashby Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made toward a trust for Kalie's son, Sawyer, c/o Matthew Ashby, 412 Ashby Cemetery Road, Oakland, MD 21550. The Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., Oakland has been entrusted with arrangements.
