June Kathleen (Taylor) Stockum, 86, of Oakland, formerly of Baltimore, died on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at the Garrett County Memorial Hospital. Born on July 17, 1927 in Andover, VA, she was the daughter of the late Wylie Marshall and Docia (Coleman) Taylor. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliaries of both the VFW and American Legion General Joseph Haller Post 95 in Baltimore. June is survived by devoted grandson, Jerry Merrick and wife Suzette; her children, Georgia "Kitty" Buckwalter and husband David, Michael G. Taylor and John Sampson; granddaughter, Kristina L. Morrissey; grandson, David M. Buckwalter; special great grandchildren, Marley, Brady and Mason Merrick; a sister, Emma Anne Carter; and number of dear great grandchildren and extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, William Stockum and Garnie Sampson; three daughters, Wanda Sue Larkins, Theresa Ann Rojas and infant daughter, Sheila Diane Sampson; three sisters, H. Bernice Henderson, Patricia Blair and Louise Campbell; and one brother, James B. Taylor. According to her wishes, June was cremated and a memorial service will be held by her family at a later date. The Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., Oakland is assisting the family with arrangements.
