John Robert Parsons, 68, of Aurora, WV died October 18, 2011 in Elkins, WV doing what he loved to do, which was farming.
He was born March 24, 1943 in Leadmine, WV a son of the late Ronald Willard and Nina Levada Shaffer Parsons. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Roth Parsons, 2 sons, Leonard Ray (Tammy) Parsons, Eglon, WV, Steve Richard Parsons, Aurora, WV, 1 sister, Jean (Carlton) Skipper, Kingwood, WV, sister-in-law, Evelyn Parsons Johnson, Hedgesville, WV and 2 grandchildren, Daniel Keith and Michael Steven Parsons. He was preceded in death by 1 brother, Ronald Parsons, Jr. Mr. Parsons was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church.
Friends will be received on Friday October 21 at the Aurora Memorial Building from 2-8 PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday October 22 at 11:00 AM at the Aurora United Methodist Church with Rev. Van Marsceau and Rev. Curt Lowry officiating. Interment will follow in the Aurora Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Aurora United Methodist Church 76 Knotts Rd.
