John "Bill" William Murphy, 71 of Mt. Lake Park, MD, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at his residence.
Born September 29, 1940 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late James & Augusta (Hardesty) Murphy . He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Peggy (Knotts) Murphy and infant daughter Denise Murphy.
Bill was the owner of Auto Express Inc.
Surviving are: wife-Christine (Stemple) Murphy; sons-John "Jay" Murphy, Miami, FL and James Murphy & wife Amanda, Mt. Lake Park; daughters-Leslie Noland and husband Kim Miller, Finzel, MD and Lisa Murphy, Mt. Lake Park; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St, Oakland, MD, Saturday, December 17, 2011 from 1 - 2 p.m. with a memorial service immediately following.
At Bill's request his body was cremated and inurnment will be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
