John Mosser

John Robert Mosser, 61, of Oakland passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2014 with his family by his side at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. Born on April 3, 1953 in Oakland, he was the son of the late William C. and Mary Elizabeth (McRobie) Mosser. He had worked for Bausch & Lomb prior to working as a heavy equipment operator for the Garrett County Roads Department for 36 years. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Oakland. In addition to spending time with his family, John enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time outdoors. He is survived by his loving wife of twenty eight years, Janet Louise (Tichinel) Mosser; two children, Susie Lynn Molek and husband Stephen of Belle Vernon, PA and Michael Allen "Mike" Mosser of Oakland; a granddaughter, Skyla Rose Molek; sisters, Kathy Michael and husband Tom of Deep Creek Lake and Betty Dewitt and husband Ron of Oakland; a brother, Harold "Hal" Mosser and wife Barbara of Frederick; an aunt, Marguerite Deems; and a number of nieces, nephews and close friends. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd ST, Oakland on Wednesday, October 22nd from 5 to 8 PM and at St. Paul's United Methodist Church on Thursday, October 23rd from 10 to 11 AM after which time a funeral service will be held with Pastor Matthew A. Paugh and Pastor George H. Tichinel officiating. Interment will follow in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Roger Kisner, Tom "Wimp" Holland, Charlie Harvey, Dave Sines, Mike Holler, and Jeff Uphold. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cindy's Fund, PO Box 182, Oakland, MD 21550.
