John Richard Michaels, 72 of Oakland, MD, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at his home.
Born March 22, 1939 in Vindex, MD, he was the son of the late John H. & Edna Mae (Cline). He was also preceded in death by son-John Richard Michaels, Jr.; brothers, William Michaels and Jack Michaels and sisters-Arveta McCrum, Mary Mallow, Norma Jean Shoemaker, Maxine McRobie and Glendene McRobie.
John was a retired carpenter and bus driver.
Surviving are: wife-Kathryn (Miller) Michaels; sons-Michael Michaels and wife, Dora, Kitzmiller, MD, Kevin Michaels-Grantsville, MD, Kenneth Michaels and wife, Lynnette and Robert Michaels and wife, Rebecca-both of Oakland, MD; brother-Ronald Michaels, Loch Lynn, MD; sisters-Sandra Kisner-Oakland, MD and Linda Griffen, Georgia; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Family and friends will be received at the Loch Lynn Church of God, Friday, May 27, 2011 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2011 at the Loch Lynn Church of God with Rev. Ivan Ackerman officiating.
Interment will be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
