John Delaney

John Adam Delaney, 72, of Mt. Storm, WV passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2012 as the result of an automobile accident. Born on January 18, 1940, he was the son of the late Anna Mayles; stepfather, Arthur Mayles; and father, Woodrow Delaney. He was a 1958 graduate of University High School in Morgantown, WV. Immediately after high school, he joined the IBEW Local Union #425 in Fairmont, WV, from which he retired. He supervised the building of the PRT in Morgantown, WV. He was an electrician by trade, as well as a local electrician. He spent many hours providing electricity, heat and lighting for many local people, which he enjoyed doing. He was a member of the Oakland Masonic Lodge as well as the Davis Odd Fellows and the Ali Ghan Shrine of Cumberland. He is survived by five children, Debbie Kitzmiller and husband Gary, John Delaney and wife Chandra, Mike Delaney and wife Dianne, David Delaney and wife Dina, and Miranda Vetter and husband John; grandchildren, Krista Moncrief and husband Bobby, Kris Kitzmiller and wife Megan, Jillian Rhea and husband Jonathan, Shannon Delaney, Mike Delaney, Jr., Jayden Delaney, Hutch Delaney and wife Tyler, Storm Delaney, Neka Delaney, Braden Myers, Cody Vetter, Kaitlyn Vetter, Blake Vetter, Angela Wolfe, Kasey Wolfe, Hannah Delaney, Madison Delaney, and Jude Delaney; great grandchildren, Robby, Gracealyn, and Garrett Moncrief, Emma Kitzmiller, Riley Rhea, Paizlee Delaney, and two great grandchildren on the way; and a special friend, Beulah Wegman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brothers, Bob and Bill Delaney; a brother, John Iaquinta a special sister-in-law, Barbara Delaney; and an infant son. Friends will be received on Sunday, June 24th from 3 to 8 PM and Monday, June 25th from 10 to 11 AM at the Locust Grove Church of the Brethren where funeral services will be held on Monday, June 25th at 11 AM with the Rev. John Walker officiating. Interment will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery.
