Jimmie Beeman

Jimmie Dale Beeman, 78, of Kitzmiller, passed away on November 29, 2024, at the Martinsburg VA Medical Center. Born on August 28, 1946, in Vindex, he was the son of the late Wilbert Beeman Sr. and Mildred (Harvey) Beeman Sharpless.

After graduating from Southern Garrett High School, Jimmie served his country with honor in the United States Marine Corps. He was awarded the Purple Heart during his time in Vietnam. Following his military service, Jimmie worked a variety of jobs until beginning his career as a coal miner for Mettiki Coal, where he worked until retirement. Jimmie enjoyed working with his tractors and horses, tinkering on various projects, and watching classic Westerns. Above all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren.

Jimmie is survived by his son, James Beeman and wife Amy of Swanton; two grandchildren, Jalen and Abrielle; and siblings, Alvin Roger Beeman, Charles Beeman Sr., Raymond Beeman, George Beeman, Helen Tasker, Betty Nelson, Louise Bray, and Edith Tasker.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, Wilbert Beeman Jr., Carol Jane Ashby, and Linda Sisler.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VFW Post 1077, 4107 Maryland Hwy., Oakland, MD 21550 or the American Legion Post 71, 423 Memorial Drive, Oakland, MD 21550.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff of CLC-B at the Martinsburg VA Medical Center for their loving care of the past 15 months.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, from 4 to 7 PM at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 710 Church St., Kitzmiller. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 11 AM in the funeral home with Pastor Virginia Tichinel officiating. Interment will follow at the Mount Zion Cemetery.
