Jessie Gnegy

d. September 5, 2010

Jessie Marie "Wotring " Gnegy Went to be with the Lord on Sunday September 5, 2010 at her home. Born in Aurora WV. She was the daughter of the late Calvin & Hester (Sell) Wotring. Mrs. Gnegy was also preceded in death by her husband Harold Elroy Gnegy. Sr.

Every now and then someone comes along who may not leave a mark on society by being a business professional, but who leaves something greater, generations of family who have lost the rock and center of their foundation. Jessie was a home maker, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She leaves behind 5 sons Harold Jr and wife Dotty, Robert and wife Marge, Larry and wife Jerry, Tim and wife Sue, and Ron and wife Susan all of Oakland and one daughter Kathy and Husband Gary also of Oakland. She also leaves behind 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Each person from the youngest to the oldest is left with memories about how she could make them laugh or how her smile could light up the room. Even until the end, she was still giving her loved ones blessed memories that will fill each and every one of their hearts, with joy , every time they remember these moments.

Mrs Gnegy was also a charter member of the Oak Park Church of the Brethren. She was a long -time Sunday school teacher, a deaconess, and helped with numerous other activities of the church. Serving the Lord was a very important part of her life and she instilled the love to serve the Lord and help others in each and every member of her family from the oldest to the youngest.

At this time we all morn our loss but also remember the words to one of Jessie's favorite songs "the blessing by faith, I receive from above, Oh, glory! My soul is made perfect in love; my prayer has prevailed, and this moment I know, the blood is applied, I am whiter than snow." After years of hard work and loving her family Jessie's prayer has prevailed and she is whiter than snow.

Friends will be received at the David A. Burdock funeral home 21 N 2nd St, Oakland on Tuesday September 7, from 2-4 and 7-9. Services will be in the Oak Park Church of the Brethren on Wednesday September 8 at 2:00pm with Rev. J. Rodger Fike officiating. Interment will be in Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
