Jesse Skipper

Jesse Nolan Skipper, 39, of Oakland, died on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at his residence.

Born on June 21, 1985, in Oakland, he was the son of Lou Ellen (Sturm) Lichty and her husband, Steven and Richard Skipper, Sr. and his wife, Barbara.

Throughout the ups and downs of Jesse's life, he touched the lives of many in the community. He was extremely gifted and enjoyed exploring complex ideas. Jesse delighted in challenges and excelled at anything he was determined to do. He formerly owned and operated Veritas Contracting, LLC. He also enjoyed golfing, music, and his canine companions.

In addition to his parents, Jesse is survived by two children, Jadyn and Ian Skipper; the mother of his children, Jessica Fazenbaker-Skipper; one brother, Richard Skipper, Jr; four step-brothers, Justin and Travis Lichty, and Donald Horner, Jr. and Robert Horner; maternal grandmother, Barbara Sturm; and other relatives and friends.

Jesse was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Seibert and Mildred Skipper; his maternal grandfather, John Sturm; and an uncle, Lowell Sturm.

A memorial service in honor of Jesse's life will be held on Sunday, November 17, at 12:15 PM at Grace Reformed Church, 19 S 5th Street, Oakland, MD. Pastor Robert Bonser will officiate.
