Jerry Parrish

Jerry Ralph Parrish, 69, of Mt. Lake Park passed away on Friday, March 21, 2014 at the Garrett County Memorial Hospital. Born on July 15, 1944 in Keyser, WV, he was the son of the late Jerry Chatterton and Betty M. Teets. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and had also been a self-employed carpet layer. He enjoyed painting pictures of scenery as well as playing his guitar and harmonica. He is survived by a son, Jerry R. Parrish of CA; four brothers, Calvin R. Parrish of MO, Melvin E. Rhodes of NV, Marvin S. Rhodes and Ronald W. Rhodes, both of Oakland; six sisters, Edith A. Upole and Alysia E. Bowman, both of Swanton, Sheila L. Rexrode, Dianna F. Rhodes, LaDonna M. Lewis and Betty L. Chapman, all of Oakland; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Donald R. Parrish and David A. Parrish. According to his wishes, Jerry was cremated and a private family memorial service was held. Interment will be in the Rocky Gap Veteran's Cemetery.
