Jerry Lee Meyers, 79, of Mtn. Lake Park died on Friday, April 27, 2018, at Garrett Regional Medical Center. Born on July 14, 1938, in Crellin, he was the son of the late Samuel and Belvia (Hinebaugh) Meyers. Prior to retirement, he had owned his own excavating business. Jerry attended the Mt. Top Christian Assembly and was a member of the Elks Lodge in Oakland. He enjoyed collecting Farmall tractors, NASCAR racing, golf and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren who were the light of his life. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carolyn Meyers; his children, James Meyers, Jeff Meyers and wife Ida and Scott Meyers; grandchildren, Mary Beth, Karlee and Elias Meyers, Jenna Knapp and Erica Frazee; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jay Meyers and his sisters and brothers, Bertie June Kight, Henrietta Wilt, Betty Feerrar, Dana Bland, Samuel Meyers, Jr. and Dennis Meyers. Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2ndSt., Oakland on Sunday, April 29, 2018 from 2 to 5 PM. A funeral service will be held in the Mt. Top Christian Assembly on Monday, April 30, 2018, at 11 AM with Pastor Cyndi Tichnell and Pastor Donald Matthews officiating. Interment will follow in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cindy’s Fund, PO Box 182, Oakland, MD 21550.
