Janet "Jan" Marie King, 59, of Deer Park passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family. Born on September 19, 1953 in Morgantown, WV, she was the daughter of Forrest V. Boyce of Morgantown and the late Juanita (Nicklow) Boyce. Jan was an Application Analyst (My Chart) Informatics for WVU Ruby Memorial Hospital for 34 years and a member of the Deer Park United Methodist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter and sister. Jan will be missed by all whose lives she touched. Her greatest joys included family, dancing, shuffleboard, travel and her love of animals which could be evidenced by the amount of strays to which she provided shelter. Additionally, she eagerly looked forward to and greatly enjoyed her "Sister's Weekends" with her siblings. She is survived by her loving husband, Terry W. King; sons, Rich Boyce and partner Rich Shurtliff of New York, NY and Justin Lemley of Morgantown; stepson, Derek J. King of Harrisonburg, VA; brother, Kenny Boyce and wife Kim of Morgantown; sisters, Barbara Skidmore and husband Ward of Morgantown, Donna Carter and husband John of Bruceton Mills, Pam Youst and husband Ken of Morgantown and Melisa Baker and husband Doug of Morgantown; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Jonas and Mary Jane Nichlow and paternal grandparents, Forrest Boyce and Nora Marie Fuller. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Friday, August 16th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 PM and at the Loch Lynn Church of God on Saturday, August 17th from 10 to 11 AM at which time a funeral service will be held with Pastor Barbara Rexroad officiating. Pallbearers will be Justin Lemley, Derek King, Matt Youst, Rick Livengood, Butch Livengood and Gary Shafer. Interment will follow in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Deer Park United Methodist Church, c/o 205 Seneca Ave., Oakland, MD 21550, Hospice of Garrett County, PO Box 271, Oakland, MD 21550 or the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center, 1 Medical Center Drive, PO Box 8110, Morgantown, WV 26506.
