James Virts

James E. "JIm" Virts, Sr., 68, of Elk Garden, WV, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2019, Valley Health-Winchester Medical Center in Virginia. Born on May 12, 1950, in Vindex, he was the son of the late William Russell Virts, Sr. and Dorothy Helen (Beeman) Virts. Jim was a kind and gentle man. He enjoyed watching football and old westerns on TV, but most of all, he loved his family time and his grandchildren who were his world and his sunshine. He is survived by his wife of 50 years of marriage and the love of his life, Mary L. (Cosner) Virts; a son, James Virts, Jr. and wife Corinna of Elk Garden; a daughter, Connie Lyons and husband Steven of Elk Garden; grandchildren, Steven Lyons, Brady Lyons and Kriston Virts; great grandchildren, Carter and Emery Lyons; a brother, Allen Virts; a sister, Margaret Coddington; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Virts, Jr. Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 710 Church St., Kitzmiller on Tuesday, May 7th from 5 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, May 8th at 11 AM with Pastor Joe Tichinel officiating. Interment will follow in the Kalbaugh Cemetery, Elk Garden.
