James Mellinger

James Eugene Mellinger, 75, of Mtn. Lake Park passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home. Born on July 8, 1937 near Accident, he was the son of the late John F. Mellinger Sr. and Vauda (Glotfelty) Mellinger. He was a 1957 graduate of Southern High School. He worked as a plumber in Baltimore and for the B&O Railroad in Oakland prior to owning a carpet business in Terra Alta, WV. He is survived by his former wife, Darlene (Bishop) Mellinger of Albright, WV; two daughters, Jeanne Cramer of Broken Arrow, OK and Jamie Shaffer of Katy, TX; two grandchildren, Jeffery Anderson of Bruceton Mills, WV and Angel Reese of Terra Alta, WV; three great grandchildren; three brothers, John F. Mellinger, Jr. of Levels, WV, Clarence Mellinger of Swanton and William D. Mellinger of Baltimore; and two sisters, Lois M. Williams of Baltimore and Amelia Wolf of Oakland. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold (Pete) Mellinger and Calvin F. Mellinger; a sister, Mildred Legeer Crane; and his in-laws, Scott and Lenora Bishop. At the request of James, his body was cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date with interment to take place in Rose Hill Cemetery, North Glade. The Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., Oakland is assisting the family with arrangements.
