James Lohr

James Harland Lohr, 74, of Swanton died on Thursday, October 27, 2016, at home. Born on July 28, 1942 in Swanton, he was the son of the late Frederick A. and Elizabeth P. (George) Lohr. He attended the Swanton Otterbein United Methodist Church for 18 years. He retired from the Garrett County Roads Department after working for 21 A½ years and was a life-long farmer. He enjoyed gardening to share vegetables with his friends and neighbors. Most importantly, he was a loving husband and great fathers. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Linda Sue Lohr; a son, Harland Lohr and wife Jody of LaVale; a daughter, Lisa Ellifritz and husband Eric of Mtn. Lake Park; a grandson, Daniel Lohr; a sister, Mary Shreve and husband Eugene of Swanton; a brother, Frederick E. Lohr of Swanton; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Dorothy Lohr; a sister, M. Lucille Shannon; and four brothers, Daniel E. Lohr, Luther D. Lohr, Roger W. Lohr and Lewis Carlton Lohr. Friends will be received at the C & S FREDLOCK FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Tuesday, November 1st from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM and at the Swanton Otterbein United Methodist Church on Wednesday, November 2nd from 10 to 11 AM after which time a funeral service will be held with Pastors Carl Lee and Barbara Rexroad officiating. Interment will follow in the Alexander Lohr Family Cemetery.
