James Leo Lancaster, 89, of Baltimore and Elk Garden, WV, died on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore. Born on February 7, 1924 in Kitzmiller, he was the son of the late James Arthur and Elizabeth (Sloane) Lancaster. He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp having served in WWII and, prior to his retirement, James was an electrician for Bethlehem Steel. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and enjoyed hunting and watching Orioles and Ravens games. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Martha Ellen (Ray) Lancaster; his children, James Ray Lancaster of Northeast, Deborah Mae Lancaster of Bethesda and Linda Kay Lancaster of Glen Burnie; grandchildren, Christoher James Pirisino and Michael James Pirisino; a great granddaughter, Milena Capri Pirisino; and a number of nieces and nephews. James was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 710 Church St., Kitzmiller on Monday, September 9th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the Elk Garden United Methodist Church on Tuesday, September 10th at 11 AM with Pastor Ross Glotfelty and Pastor Matthew Paugh officiating. Interment will follow in the IOOF Cemetery, Elk Garden. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Elk Garden United Methodist Church, Center St., Elk Garden, WV 26717 or the Dundalk United Methodist Church, 6903 Mornington Rd., Dundalk, MD 21222.
