James Brady

James Douglas "Doug" Brady, 53, of Shallmar/Kitzmiller died unexpectedly on March 24, 2013 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown WV. Born on September 24, 1959 in Akron, OH, he was the son of the late James Conrad and Patricia (Burns) Brady. He was a graduate of Southern High School, Class of 1977. He then enlisted in the United States Army where he was stationed in Korea around the DMC. He proudly served his country from 1977-81. He was a welder by trade having worked for several years for PCM. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and trapper and was the president of the Wolfe Den Hunting Club in Shallmar. He was married to his wife of 29 years, Sherry, on March 24, 1984. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, James Allen Brady of Shallmar; daughters, Mindy McDaniel and husband Jeff of Oakland and Miranda Brady and fiance' Jay Savage of Shallmar; a brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Missy Brady of Kitzmiller; grandchildren, Courtney, Shayla and Hunter Sanders, Tucker and Jackson Savage, and Tanner Beckman. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Virginia Ellen Brady and a granddaughter, Emily Savage. The family will receive friends at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 710 Church St., Kitzmiller on Friday from 6 to 8 PM and on Saturday from 10 to 11 AM at which time a funeral service will be held with Rev. John Friend officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in the I.O.O.F Cemetery, Elk Garden, WV. The family requests donations be made to the Kitzmiller Fire Dept., 249 E. Main St., Kitzmiller, MD 21538.
