Jacqueline M. Johnson, 87, of Oakland, died on Monday, May 29, 2017 at the Garrett Regional Medical Center. Born on August 8, 1929 in Cumberland, MD, she was the daughter of the late Clarence A. and Ora F. (Lease) McKenzie. Jacqueline was a graduate of Allegheny High School. She was co-owner of Jimmie's Market on Decatur Street in Cumberland. Jacqueline was a dedicated volunteer for several Garrett county organizations including the Loar Auxiliary at the Garrett Regional Medical Center, Garrett Lakes Arts Festival and Our Town Theater. She was a charter member of VIVA (Volunteers of Various Areas), a member of GFWC Civic Club of Oakland, St. Paul's United Methodist Church and a past member of the Mt. Laurel Gardening Club. She enjoyed cooking, decorating her home and shopping. Jacqueline is survived by her husband, Wayne R. Johnson; siblings, Sonia Senn of Romney, Richard McKenzie and wife Patricia of Ormond Beach, FL, Rebecca Poole of Athens, GA and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Marion Brown and husband John, Rita McKenzie, James McKenzie and John McKenzie. Friends will be received at the C & S FREDLOCK FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM. A funeral service will be held at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 318 E Oak St., Oakland on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Matthew A. Paugh officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Garrett County Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the WVU Cancer Institute at Garrett Regional Medical Center, 251 N 4th St., Oakland, MD 21550 or to a charity of one's choice.
